Our standards. As Myanmar’s first American law firm,
Herzfeld Rubin Meyer & Rose Law Firm Limited (“HRMR”) is
proud to apply US standards and the American Bar
Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct to our
work in Myanmar.
Our business orientation. Recognizing that Myanmar is now
‘open for business,’ our team has sophisticated
transactional lawyers who have advised clients worldwide.
Our local relationships. We are ‘on the ground’ in
Myanmar. Our presence goes well beyond a physical office.
Our professionals have longstanding relationships with
critical Myanmar officials and entities.
Our international professionals. Our Myanmar professionals
are admitted to practice in Myanmar or in the US.
Furthermore, our sister firms, under the Herzfeld & Rubin PC
(“H&R” – see www.herzfeld-rubin.com)
umbrella, give our clients access to our more than 200 attorneys who are
practicing across the globe.
Our infrastructure. Although many are concerned with the
ability to communicate with, or link to, Myanmar facilities,
we are proud to have set up a stable communications and
electronics infrastructure. Systems meet US standards,
offering foreign clients the ability to communicate with HRMR as they would with their local facilities.
HRMR’s mission is
to apply the highest standards of professionalism to our
clients’ legal and business needs in Myanmar and elsewhere in
the ASEAN countries. Our professionals offer over thirty years
of experience in Myanmar and the ASEAN area, with clients that
range from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. The HRMR
attorneys and government relations practitioners, together with
their colleagues in the affiliated international H&R offices,
are proud to participate in Myanmar’s revival and can leverage
our skills and resources for the benefit of our clients.
HRMR is the first
law firm in Myanmar to offer mobile computing to its staff,
including the newest models of DELL laptops, NEXUS 7 tablet(s)
and 3G-capable smart phones. Our attorneys are well versed in
using the electronic tools available to them, which supplement
the availability of US-based individually dedicated phone
numbers, SKYPE accounts, and other networking tools. All of our
electronic platforms are based on Microsoft software (Windows 7
Pro, Office 365), as well as Android phones or tablets (Ice
Cream Sandwich 4.0 or better).
Whether in the
office, or while travelling, HRMR attorneys use software that
allows them to virtually “meet” their clients and work with them
on documents, coordinate calendars and conduct business at any
time. All data is backed-up on “cloud drives,” and “virtual
offices” can almost instantly be created, and, subject to
availability of electricity and data access, operated for
extended periods of time. Furthermore, files are available for
sharing with relevant parties and colleagues wherever they are
located around the globe, and irrespective of the time
difference. Our webmaster, who is not based in Myanmar, can
customize web-based secure solutions for each client, based on
specific needs. Web support is available, both locally and
through our International Tech Center.
Our office in Yangon is equipped with fiber-optics high-speed
Internet, that is made available to clients with uninterrupted
electric power, through our state-of-the-art Ethernet network
and WIFI equipment (802.11n), as well as through a redundant
WIMAX solution. In a country were constant power and internet
are still rare, our office benefits from two Internet systems
which offer our clients full access. Finally, our office is
equipped to handle web/video (Skype/Microsoft Link) conferences,
including with our H&R affiliated offices in the U.S., Europe
and the Middle East, as well as with the other independent
members of the Alliott Group in over 180 countries.
